Challenge:

2 stars, moderate riding on unpaved national road to Anlong Veng. A bumpy road with some wood bridges. Rocky incline to the mountain summit.

Tour Summary:

A must see, Anlong Veng is located 130 km north of Siem Reap. This was the last stronghold of the Khmer Rouge and the burial place of Pol Pot. Not only is there great riding to this location but Paul provides an in-depth, historical background of this area. This road to Anlong Veng passes through small villages and forested lands to the stunning mountain range of Anlong Veng.

Accommodation:

Riders can stay on the Dangrek escarpment in a mountain camp. These wooden houses have been recently built. Basic.

Alternatively, riders can stay in the town on Anlong Veng in 2 newly opened, basic, guest houses.

Food:

No problems. Great restaurants in Anlong Veng.

Itinerary:

Day 1:	3-4 hour drive to Anlong Veng. Following lunch, travel up the Dangrek Escarpment. Extensive tour of the mountain, have dinner locally & overnight.
Day 2:	Descend to Anlong Village, visit Ta Mok’s Villa and depart for Siem Reap.
